About the ETRC

The English Teaching Resource Center (ETRC) was created by the U.S. Embassy and “I. Creangă” State Pedagogical University. The ETRC is sponsored by the US Embassy in Chisinau.

In the beautifully remodeled ETRC, teachers can:

  • read the latest books on English teaching methods,
  • find authentic English language materials,
  • plan their lessons and network with EFL colleagues.

The ETRC organizes some trainings for professional development of the English teachers from the entire republic 2-3 times a year. The trainings take place during the vacation period in fall, spring or summer. The participation is free of charge; preliminary registration is required as the number of places is limited. Also, ETRC organizes free activities for university and lyceum students from around Moldova.

References books such as bilingual dictionaries, specialized dictionaries, a world atlas, and a desktop encyclopedia can also be used in the ETRC. Visitors are invited to listen to books on tape or watch video cassettes at the ETRC, as well.
